12th-13th century padded hoses

Early medieval padded hosesworn by knights that are present in the illustrations from the Maciejowski Bible, resemble civilian ones. Long medieval hoses are made together with a kind of shoes with double leather sole. They were usually ready to attach chainmail to them. This kind of long medieval hoses were worn by cavalry. Another kind of medieval hoses are short hoses, mainly knee-lenght or slightly longer. In the late 13th century there started to be leather and metal elements added on knees. This kind of medieval hose was used by infantry.
